Dreams Have No Age and No Limits!
Even though a little over a year ago I retired from my position as an Associate Pastor, I did not retire from the ministry nor from the dreams that are in me. I am busier than ever before, but in a different way.
I have learned that everyone’s life will tell a story. So, I want to make sure that my life’s story is a good one. I want to be able to have the courage to “step-up” and face the giants in my life and to face the unknowns that are before me.
At the first of the year, I decided to put my faith and dreams into action. I started “My Passion Magazine.” It was going to be a free on-line magazine about ordinary people and their passion. I planned to do one a quarter for one year. However, we have had so many people requesting hard copies that we have started printing the magazine. I had/have no idea where all of this will lead, but I am “daring my faith” to “just do it.” I have now hired two people to help me with this project. (Can you believe it?)
There are so many things I want to accomplish in my life (for my life’s story). To accomplish many of these dreams and goals, I will have to become a risk-taker and I am working very hard to get out of my comfort zone.
I know that I will face obstacles. I know that there will be doubters. I know I will make mistakes. But I also know that with hard work there are no limits. I will not let retirement age stop me.
As I passed by my television set the other day, the newscaster was interviewing a retired football player named Bobby Bell. He played for the Kansas City Chiefs as a Linebacker/Defensive end (sounds like I know what I am talking about, but I don’t). He is a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame and was a member of the Chief’s team that won Super Bowl IV. Bobby left college without graduating. He always had a dream to finish his studies and get a diploma. So at the age of 74, he completed his college courses and he graduated in May of 2015. He got out of his comfort zone and dared to dream.
I think that sometimes we feel that live has passed us by. But if you really think about it, every day when you get out of bed, you are getting another chance at life…….no matter what your circumstances. This is a new day to do better, a new day to do more, a new day to start over, a new day that the Lord has made just for you.
Step Up! Step Out! Be Bold!
REMEMBER: Dreams Have No Age and No Limits!
